The MPPDA Executive Committee is interested in promoting mentorship within the MPPDA membership.  All of us at one time or another have benefited from career advice from a more experienced faculty member.  One of our greatest strengths as an organization is the support we show one another.  The Executive Committee coordinated an interactive speed mentoring session during our National MPPDA Meeting in Nashville, TN the week of April 10, 2014.  Here is a link to the presentation:  Harnessing Our Natural Resources: Speed Mentoring Med-Peds Style.

Regional meetings are also an excellent way to meet and collaborate with other Med-Peds and categorical faculty members.  Please see our list of regional meetings and faculty development workshops as an additional resource.  Also the “New Program Director Resources” page has some outstanding articles from APDIM that are designed to help both new and experienced program directors to do their jobs more effectively.  Please take the time to review them.

If you would like to establish a formal mentoring relationship with another program director from MPPDA and would like our assistance, or if you are an experienced program director who would like to mentor junior med-peds faculty, please comment below or contact the Executive Committee at [email protected].
