Academic Med-Peds Position at East Carolina 2015

Our Division of Internal Medicine/Pediatrics, as part of one of the fastest growing Departments of Pediatrics in the country, is pleased to invite applications for the position of Internal Medicine/Pediatrics faculty member. We are located in Greenville, North Carolina, a growing rural city of 85,000 people that is home to East Carolina University and the region’s academic medical center, the Brody School of Medicine and Vidant Medical Center. Greenville is noted for its low cost of living, excellent schools, outstanding performing arts, and abundance of recreational opportunities. Greenville is located a short distance from some of the world’s nicest beaches.

The Brody School of Medicine is a premier medical school which has been ranked in the top five medical schools for producing primary care physicians. Work duties for this position include provision of patient care to adults and children in our Medicine-Pediatrics Outpatient Clinic (Adult and Pediatric Health Center), and teaching and supervision of residents in both the Internal Medicine/Pediatrics and Pediatrics Residency Programs. Opportunities for teaching medical students and performing research are provided. Clinical work on the inpatient medicine and/or pediatric services can be included if desired. Tenure track or fixed term position at the rank/title of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor are available depending on experience and training. Salary is commensurate with rank/title.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must have excellent communication skills. Must have a terminal (MD or DO) degree from an appropriately accredited institution. Preferred Qualifications: Interest in primary care practice and resident education.

Responsibilities & Requirements: The Assistant/Associate Professor will be responsible for teaching, research and patient care programs appropriate to a major University.

Special Notes: This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible.
